          Location, convenient for visiting family

Staff never offer to take bags up to room when you check in, it is carry them yourself......first room we were given smelt of smoke so we had to be located, no problem, nice room.

Was treated as a person, not someone invisible, as I have been in other places, due to travelling alone. Very pleasant and courteous staff.

Room could have been warmer - no heating on although weather cold at night.

The excellent service and helpfulness from the gentleman at reception when I arrived.

          The late delivery of newspapers.

We were coming back from Brittany on the ferry from Roscoff in the evening and this hotel was ideal, just outside Plymouth. The rate for a single room with breakfast was excellent (£35). It was well signposted off the main road and it was quiet as it is some distance away from the road. It has lovely gardens around it and the windows in the restaurant/breakfast room look out directly onto them. Very comfortable, great location and price, excellent breakfast.

          A little outdated.

The location was beautiful and gave us the chance to stay outside of Plymouth but still within easy reach.

The hotel was dated and the price of food and drink very expensive, if it wasn't for the polite, friendly and helpful staff this would have been a poor stay.

          Staff.

The hotel building looks quite scruffy from the outside.

The location is ideal for visiting family in Plymouth. The bar seating area is comfortable. We complained aboutt he some lights not working in our room but this was sorted immediately. The staff are helpful and the food is good.

Felt that our Room (9) was a bit tatty especially in the bathroom area and could do with a mini facelift

The friendly staff and the good service, nothing was too much trouble.Good location for the moor.

No a major problem but it is a long walk from room to dining room ect through a maze of corridors.

Lovely setting and very friendly staff. Excellent, freshly cooked breakfast. Really nice lounge area. Grounds very well maintained. Interior of the hotel was very well kept - clean and nicely decorated. Also the offer was superb value - bed and full cooked breakfast in this really comfortable hotel was only £1 more than the nearby budget chain hotel that we have used for years, and which has recently been taken over by another budget chain (and that hotel has no facilities and an abysmal cold breakfast is dumped outside your door in a brown paper bag!). We'll certainly stay again!

Exterior looking rather shabby. Could do with some serious re-painting - the white-painted wooden railings around our balcony were very tatty and covered in green lichen . Bathroom was a little 'tired'. Room was cold on arrival as the solitary small radiator was turned down to minimum, and didn't warm the room during the evening even after I'd turned it up, and there was only a single bar electric wall-heater in the large bathroom, with no radiator, so that was really cold when we arrived.
